We use FloQast to manage our close process and other recurring tasks across the Accounting team. We have a 5-day close, which requires us to be efficient. It helps to keep track of all of the activities required to close the books, track the status, and also ensure completeness. We also track the status of balance sheet reconciliations using FloQast.
  • Provides a clear status of the month end close.
  • Allows us to analyze tasks by team member and reassign as needed.
  • It syncs with our ERP Netsuite to ensure balance sheet reconciliations can be tied out directly.
  • It also connects with Slack to notify users of key deadlines and changes in review status for team tasks.
  • The file attachments have a size limit, which can be frustrating for teams working with large data sets.
  • Providing a consolidated status of close is not possible, only an entity by entity view.
  • The auto recon feature isn’t that helpful with larger data sets. Still requires human input to finalize and tie out fully.
Floqast is an easy tool to implement. It also fits into your existing close process rather than forcing your team to adjust their process to do with the tool. It also helps to reduce the time to close, as all team members have a clear line of sight of their assigned tasks and due dates and provide notifications as functions are reviewed.

I and my team use FloQast daily for our monthly close checklist and account reconciliations. We've loaded each team member's daily tasks into the FloQast checklist. I hold meetings during our financial close and throughout the month to follow up on regular tasks. As a manager, the checklist is a valuable tool in communicating expectations and holding team members accountable. The check list significantly boosts efficiency across our teams on the regular tasks leaving us more time to coordinate and sort out the unnusual tasks. It is very simple to add tasks and customize the tasks for whatever needs to be done. The built in analytics of completion for checklist tasks and account reconciliations help me quickly understand what work my team has done and what we need to focus on going forward. I use the % completion analytics by team member frequently to ensure we are going in the right direction. The reatures of FloQast are expecially helpful in a remote work environment. Again, very valuable as a manager/leader.
  • Customizing tasks on checklist (Description, preparer, reviewer, due date, etc.
  • Reconciliation preparation, review signoffs and review notes documentation
  • Analytics on task/reconciliation completion/on track/incomplete/late.
  • The flux analysis. This is a great idea for simple company structures. [...] has 25+ subsidiaries and the Flux analysis can only be viewed as a BS or IS by Subsidiary. If there was a way to view the flux at a consolidated level by unique sub/account combo, it would be more helpful. Currently, it is more clunky than useful for our application.
  • Mass checklist/reconciliation updates or creation. We've had issues with successfully uploading data in an accurate way.
  • A way to automate account recon creation when new accounts are created in the accounting software. The Completeness check is a good controll to identify accounts in the accounting software that have not been added in FloQast but the next step would be to have an easier or automated solution for adding those accounts to NetSuite. Again, this is coming from a company with alot of subsidiaries and we keep adding more and large number of accounts often need to be added to FloQast all at once.
FloQast excels at tracking, and coordinate the different stages of a financial close. It is super useful for larger operations and teams where several tasks need to be coordinated in order. For smaller companies and teams, it may not be worth it because you may not utilize it to its fullest capabilities.

Floqast has been an invaluable addition to our month-end close process and allows our remotely distributed team to collaborate and communicate quickly and effectively throughout our entire close cycle - from our first journal entries through our reporting package distribution to management. In addition to the checklist module, the reconciliation functionality allows us to always ensure real-time alignment with our ERP, and documents clean review notes and action items. The flux module helps us ensure we can easily investigate and comment on unexpected results and trends or even compare to our budgets/forecasts. It's a great tool for any finance & accounting team to effectively manage your close, I would strongly recommend!
  • I can easily see at any point in time tasks are still pending completion, what's ready for my review, what reconciliations have been modified and are now out of balance.
  • The analytics section does a great job of highlighting bottlenecks on certain roles/individuals or even on certain days of the close calendar. With ease, we were able to redistribute responsibilities and close on a much more consistent and accurate basis.
  • We've been able to use the Remind functionality quite effectively to obtain unrecorded liability details from key vendors, prompt our engineering team to complete their submissions for capitalized software requirements, and remind spend owners to attach outstanding receipts to credit card transactions.
  • It would be great to see drill down capabilities between account reconciliations/flux analyses that links to our transactional data in our ERP.
  • I would like to see a litte more customization available in the analytics tab to add custom filter drop downs.
  • I believe this is close to being released, but I'd like to see anticipated time commitments on the task level to be able to easily review capacity type reporting/analytics.
I think FloQast is really well suited for most accounting teams that work collaboratively on the closing cycle, but will especially work well for distributed teams that work in multiple time zones. Adoption has really been key for our success in the tool. If your users are committed to marking off items as they complete them, the tool works great. If you can't get members/teams to consistently check-off tasks or reconciliations, it can be a bit challenging to be able to comprehend and analyze the results.

We primarily use Floqast as our financial close tool. This tool provides much needed visibility and aligns expectations as to who is performing which tasks and the date they are expected to be completed. This also allows management to easily check on the progress of the close without checking with each individual. Lastly, it ensures the balance sheet reconciliations tie to the final balance due to the sync with our ERP system.
  • Easily syncs with ERP system to ensure updated balances are reflected
  • Alerts team members when their reconciliation no longer ties to the balance sheet
  • Provides a centralized place for review notes and responses
  • The cost is per user so as you grow this software can become quite expensive
I can't think of a better financial close tool than Floqast. They also have quite a bit more functionality which we have not used yet, such as Flux and Remind. As I have not yet used these features unfortunately I cannot speak to those specifically.

My company uses FloQast primarily for month-end close. Prior to FloQast my close checklist consisted of an excel spreadsheet with haphazard notes, and it was difficult to keep track of what tasks I already completed and which items were still open. Additionally, there wasn't an easy way to see if account balances had changed post reconciliation, and all of my reconciliation reporting was very scattered. Enter FloQast. FloQast's dashboard shows you your progress for close, down to which items are late or on-time, what's still left to do, etc. All of my close GL accounts are in one place, I can easily see if an account balance has changed, I can see what tasks need to be done by a certain date, and on top of that it's incredibly user friendly. The approval feature is excellent as well, as you can add multiple approvers to review the work that's been done before locking the account. The aesthetic of the site is visually pleasing as well, which is a plus. It's massively changed how we do close tasks and I honestly can't imagine pulling out my Excel spreadsheets and going back to my old methods.
  • Allows the user to stay organized, consolidating all tasks into one place
  • Allows the user to see quickly and obviously if an account balance has changed since it's been reconciled, which is great if there are multiple QB users
  • Allows the user to set deadlines for weekly and close tasks so you always know when an item is due
  • Gives you a snapshot of your close and/or weekly progress in the dashboard so you know exactly what needs to be tackled
  • I would love to see a more customizable dashboard, where users could change the color themes and make it a bit more tailored to them
  • When uploading a new trial balance, it can take a few "refresh" clicks before the new balances are uploaded - this is a very minor thing, but that could be a bit faster
  • I believe the minimum user amount is currently six users - it would be really cool to see a small business version of FloQast for a lower rate so smaller companies could still access these features
I feel that any company that wants clean accounting would absolutely benefit from using FloQast. Our company uses it with all of our clients, across a broad range of industries, and it is universally applicable. Recently we onboarded a new client whose books were several months behind, with a ton of items missing and hardly any reconciliation or close work done. FloQast was absolutely integral to us getting their books caught up, organized, and all of the close items in one place. Once the catch-up work was done, the following months' closes were so much smoother and more organized, and we were able to stick to our close deadlines consistently, all because of FloQast. Additionally, when I first started working for my company, one of the first things I was able to do was put all of my weekly task items into FloQast in the non-close section. It was very helpful to be able to check off my tasks each week, and allowed me to feel confident that there weren't items I was missing or forgetting to complete.

Our company uses FloQast in the Finance and Accounting department to help with many processes including our month-end close, billing, payroll processing, FP&A, reporting, and taxes. This product helps with maintaining controls, establishing workflows, enabling easy collaboration, and ensuring proper procedures are followed in all our processes. It also provides for backup for our outside auditors.
  • Integration with ERP system to ensure proper reconciliations with backup documentation
  • Controls to ensure all procedures followed, signed off, and reviewed
  • Collaboration both within FloQast and with outside parties through ReMind
  • Large reconciliation are made easier through AutoRec features
  • Facilitates recurring entries for prepaids, amortization, and depreciation with AutoRec features
  • Tracks progress of month-end close and provides information regarding bottlenecks
  • Lacks project management functionality, though I believe this is currently being developed
  • Lacks FP&A integrations
  • Ordering checklist items can be difficult
  • Doesn't take into consideration dependencies in checklist items
FloQast is better suited the more employees in Finance there are that must collaborate in month-end closes. It makes collaboration much easier with tracking notes, sign-offs, and third party communication in ReMind. It may be a bit expensive for small businesses with smaller accounting teams of one or two people.

It helps to simplify the accounts close, reconciliations and track progress of tasks. Also automates many of the manual tasks associated with closing the books each month, such as reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and tracking progress. It Improves accuracy and reduces errors. With the help of automation FloQast reduces the risk of errors and ensures that all necessary tasks are completed on time.
  • Task Management
  • Financial Reporting
  • Workflow Automation
  • Integration with other financial systems
  • Customization options
  • Speed of user interface functions
FloQast is a great fit for large accounting teams that need to manage multiple accounts and reconcile transactions efficiently. Also it can help companies with complex financial reporting requirements, such as those with multiple entities or international operations. In addition to that, FloQast can help companies in highly regulated industries to maintain compliance and ensure accuracy in their financial reporting.

FloQast Review.

We use it for month-end close management. It can automatically sync to the accounting software that we're using and make sure that the balance agrees with what we record in the book. Additionally, the signoff feature enables us to have better control in the accounting environment. We're currently only using the main FloQast tool but I'd like to explore additional features when the Company is in need.
  • Reconciliation
  • Signoff
  • Time management.
  • Sync different currencies/books.
  • The fee is a bit high.
I think FloQast will be very helpful in managing small to mid-sized enterprises without a huge chart of accounts. I can see that if a company has a very chunky chart of accounts with active balances, it will be very hard to manage, and the checklist might be huge. In terms of control, I think the feature is still a bit bare minimum; looking forward to having more features coming in soon.

Useful for Close/SOX

We use FloQast for our close, reporting, and SOX compliance. Using the close/reporting checklists is very helpful for tracking progress and ensuring all tasks are completed. We recently starting using the SOX compliance module which so far has been very useful for seeing how the pieces of close/reporting tie into our overall SOX program with the controls linking.
  • Tracks Time Lines
  • Maps controls to activities
  • Updating dates for tasks is a bit tough sometimes as you have to use "offsets"
Works very well for the close process and the new SOX module will be a very helpful tool.

It is used by the Finance Team only at this point. We use it mostly to help with managing our workflow for monthly financials and with planning our annual audit workload. It helps us to ensure that we have completed all necessary tasks and reconciliations each month and keeps us all accountable.
  • Easy for anyone to use.
  • Helps us at audit time.
  • I'd like to have export capability in analytics.
  • I'd like to be able to edit reconciliations on the fly just like checklist items.
FloQast is excellent in helping you to manage your month end closing processes and to help auditors with their review process. Auditors can have limited access to ensure GAAP is followed (segregation of duties, etc.). During month end, you can tell on the fly just where we are in the process and who or what is still outstanding. This also let's you know who may need help in prioritizing and managing workloads.
